Patrick Curtin Tournament

What a spectacular display of talent from all our footballers of the future on a glorious day. for the long awaited Patrick Curtin Tournament of 2026.

After we lost two teams in the group stages, we were left with red, yellow, blue and the non bibs! The teams were evenly match and fought hard. The yellow and blue team met in the final. Both had a great start. There were lovely goals and points from both sides, but the blue team were four points up at half time. The yellows fought back with fantastic goals in the second half. The blue team drove on however with speed and relentless talent to secure the win!

Well done to Mark and his team.

A huge thank you to Eileen Patrick’s mother and sister Evelyn and children for coming today. Eileen presented all with trophies, medals and the “Sportsmanship Award” who was earned by Cadán. Thank you so much to Moyvane club for the use of the field and to Conor a past pupil for reffing all the games today.

What a Success!!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day from Murhur NS to you and yours!

Murhur NS absolutely wowed Listowel by walking in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade  for the first time ever this year. We had a marching band with a handful of children from 2nd Class but mainly 3rd to 6th Class. Our Infant Room to Second Class sang songs as Gaeilge and had a little chant about St. Patrick’s Day. They were very cute and marched in time also. Thank you very much to Jeannine our art associate for some costume design, Ms. OFlaherty for costume sourcing and Matt for helping with our drummers and musicians. This brilliant idea was lead by Ms. Fogarty and completely enjoyed by all!!!

The excitement was up to the sky and back today for our annual Patrick Curtin Tournament 🏆 Last week we had the group stages and unfortunately the orange and jersey teams were knocked out. Today was a fine display of football, with two semi final games firstly, the red team versus the yellow team and then the blue team versus non-bibs team.
All teams fought hard but it was meant to be for the yellow 🟡 and blue 🔵 team to meet in the final. It was a super entertaining final with lots of goals. In the finish the blue team pulled away and took the win. Their captain Mark was proud to lift the trophy. Thank you so much to the club for the field, Eileen, Evelyn and family for coming and making the presentation, to Conor for reffing and to the parents for supporting us on the day. The players were outstanding, very disciplined, encouraging and conscious of younger players. Cadán took the "Sportsmanship Award" for his brilliant attitude. He quietly went about his business, encouraging his team and played brilliant football also.
