Murhur N. S. is a co-educational, Catholic primary school which strives to provide a well-ordered, caring, happy and secure atmosphere where the spiritual, intellectual, physical, moral and cultural needs of the pupils are fostered.
Murhur N. S. aims at promoting the full and harmonious development of all aspects of the pupil including his/her relationship with God, with other people and with the environment.
While Murhur N. S. is a school with a Catholic ethos, pupils are drawn by example and teaching to appreciate and respect people of different religious affiliations and different nationalities.
Murhur N.S. strives to promote, both individually and collectively, the professional and personal development of teachers through staff meetings, teachers’ courses, curriculum days, staff outings etc. Ancillary staff in the school are highly esteemed and respected. It is recognised that their work makes a valuable contribution to the process of education.
Murhur N. S. will encourage the involvement of parents through home/school contacts and through their involvement in the Parents’ Council.
Murhur N.S. endeavours to enhance the self-esteem of everyone in the school community, to imbue in the pupils respect for people and property and encourages in them the idea of being responsible.
The school’s Code of Behaviour reflects the Christian values promoted within the school with an emphasis on forgiveness, reconciliation, new beginnings and hope. Teachers are sensitive to the needs and particular circumstances of the pupils.
